Sexuality
is considered one of the most powerful tools
of marketing and particularly advertising. Post-advertising sales response
studies have shown it can be very effective for attracting immediate
interest, holding that interest, and, in the context of that interest,
introducing a product that somehow correlates with that
interest

A nude
beach
is a
beach where the users
generally wear no clothing because of any of numerous reasons: that doing
so feels and looks good, that it is practical, for philosophical or
religious reasons, or simply because there is no reason for clothing.
Also, with nude sunbathing, an even sun tan
can be obtained.
Most existing nude beaches have been used as
such for many years and thus have become "traditionally nude". Many are
"unmanaged" beach areas that have been adopted by the local users in the
effort to maintain the beach's quality.
One can distinguish between different types
of nude beaches:
-official nude beaches
nudity is compulsory unless the
weather is bad, etc.
clothing is optional
-those tolerated by the authorities
-those where nudity is illegal, and users
risk a fine or worse
In each case the nude areas tend to be in
isolated sections, where encounters with clothed people are less likely to
occur.

It
took fifteen
years for the bikini to
be accepted in the
United
States. In 1951 bikinis were banned from the Miss World
Contest. In 1957, however, Brigitte Bardot's bikini in And God Created Woman
created a market for the swimwear in the US. In 1960, Brian
Hyland's pop song "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow
Polka Dot Bikini" inspired a bikini-buying spree. Finally the bikini
caught on, and by 1963, the movie
Beach Party, starring Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon, led a
wave of films that made the bikini a pop-culture symbol.
Sportswomen who play beach
volleyball are sometimes required to wear bikinis.
